Lillesden school for girls – mirror mirror

Just got back from here and had a really good explore. This was an old Manor/Mansion that was converted into a school. Someone nicked the lead from the roof a while back and since then the inside floors and ceilings have all rotted away. I heard a rumour an explorer suffered a fatality here.

Pyestock National Gas Turbine Establishment

For over 50 years Pyestock was at the forefront of gas turbine development. It was probably the largest site of its kind in the world. V bomber, Harrier and Tornado engines were tested on site. The power of the air house allowed Concorde’s engines to be tested at 2,000 mph. Every gas turbine installed in Royal Navy ships was checked here; captured Soviet engines were discreetly examined.

Black and chrome Harley Davidson in Texas

We don’t see many Harley Davidson’s in England, a few but not many. As you can expect plenty of them in America and not many of the other bikes we see lots of in England. This was just a handheld shot I took walking around Galveston in Texas.

Mayfield Lavender sunset

Today I went to Mayfield Lavender which I think is classed as being in Sutton although it’s more Woodmansterne in my opinion. I was still a little early as the lavender was still quite small, I think in about 3-4 weeks it should be fully grown and I will go back for some more photos.
