After spending 3 months on the road in Australia thought it would be good to spend a week in Dubai with my good pal Alan Carter to adjust timezones for getting back to the UK. Unfortunately Dubai is an awesome photo location at night so we spent the week sleeping all day and only getting up at night to photography.. so timezone adjusting did not go quite to plan
Dubai is a great City for photography, not so much in the daytime but at night when the lights and neons come on makes for some great long exposure, night photography.
We got access to one of the high city skyscrappers to photograph off the roof, having a full 360 of the city from 80 floors up.
Dubai was on my list of places to visit to photograph for a while. Although the modern high rise futuristic look is maybe a little too much to live with on a daily basis it does make for some stunning photography. But it’s definitely a night time photography location with all the neons and lights everywhere. Which suits me fine as I love night photography.
I was on my way back from Australia to the UK with my good friend Alan Carter and as Dubai was on the way would have been rude not to visit and stay for a week. We had some great fun and got some great photos. We had a couple of fails where we went hunting for a shipwreck boat that had been moved and that cool looking sail hotel was a no go due to building work spoiling the location. But we got access to some hotel roofs to get some great high city shots.
Here is a few of my shots in and around Dubai from this trip. I’m sure I will be back for another visit soon!
Whilst in Dubai through a Facebook contact we was able get hold of a security guard that allowed us access to one of the skyscrapers over looking downtown Dubai, for a small donation. Me and a good friend spent a few hours taking photos from our vantage point that allowed us a 360 view over the city.
