Looking over hastings

Just a few minutes ago I won an auction on eBay for a Sigma 10-20mm wide angle lens, so really looking foward to getting that and taking some wide angle landscapes. Up until now I’ve just been using the 18mm on my Nikon 18-55mm kit lens and it’s been good but 10mm is going to be something else!.

Here we have the view looking over Hastings when you walk all the way out of town and up the hill that I think leads to the old ruins. I never got any further then here as was pretty much out of puff after walking all around town and then up this hill.

On Friday I went down to Hastings famous for the ‘Battle of Hastings’. But the weather was so poor I never took a single picture, very disheartening as it’s a 5 hour round car trip.

But on Sunday was such a nice day I decided to make the trip again. This time I got some great shots. I specifically went to get photos of the pier which is now dilapidated and just an empty shell. I took alot of slight variations on the same scene, so will be many months before I get around to processing them all.

Here’s the first one taken from the West side of the pier with sun overhead.

Yesterday I drove along the south coast from Portsmouth, passing through Bognor Regis, Worthing etc taking some snaps along the way. I ended up back in Brighton for a last stroll as the Sun came down. Took this nice photo under the Brighton wheel and timed it just right as a young family walked by.
