This photo is taken at Rosehill in Carshalton looking across the crossing and shops. This was the first time I took my camera out in the rain to try and catch the reflections in the puddles. As my camera is not weatherproof I bought a little DSLR rainbag on eBay for about £10. Only problem is my 8mm fisheye I was using is so wide I can’t cover the lens with the bag otherwise the bag will be in the frame. This was ok when the rain eased up but when the rain was coming meant I got some rain drops on the glass, spoiling my pictures.
Today was the first time I got stopped by security guards. I had planned to finish the day on this shot of St. Pauls as my grand finale. I put my tripod down and lined this up ready to hit the button when I was jumped from behind by two security guards. I said can I just take one quick shot and he reluctantly said ok… so I fired off nine ))
Another shot of Tower Bridge at slight different angle but I really like how this one came out with new and old together. Processed with Color Efex pro to give it that wet and glossy look.
Here we have a photo in the city of Tower Bridge between the glass buildings and offices. I love the little shops to the side and the little water feature that runs down the middle although I would not be surprised if many had caught their foot in the channel.
This was quite a fun picture to take as was quite busy and even though I was positioned in the middle on top of the water stream people where still walking down the centre as one woman almost walked right into my tripod.
This was taken as a 10 second long exposure and as a single RAW file that I processed through Photomatix and Photoshop.
There are many unusual and eclectic things to find in Hastings from the locals to the shops and streets and a very friendly atmosphere. I ended up chatting to a lady on the beach for the best part on an hour but had go and take some photos!
Here’s a great looking shop I found wandering around Hastings town ‘Up the garden path’, I think they sell bits and bobs for your garden.
