The Lifeboat Station is located at The Stade in Hastings Old Town – right next to the fishing fleet berths on the working beach. The new boathouse was built in 1995 to safetly accomodate the Mersey class and D class lifeboats, along with tractor, bobcat and carriages. It was the first boathouse in the country to be built with disabled access into its design.
Before I went up to London I took a moment to think about what shots I wanted to get. I did plan to go up to Tower Bridge but as per usual over slept and ran out of time. Another shot I wanted was looking down an empty underground train but never got the opportunity.
A shot I really wanted but never thought I would get being the week before Christmas was an empty underground stop.
A few years back me and the wife went to Bruge for Christmas on the Eurostar. We had to be at St Pancras International at some ungodly hour like 5am. It was absolutely dead. I had never been there before and it struck me how fantastic it looked, maybe that was heightened by the fact no one was there.
